This was mentioned before, it basically disables the BELL wire. I had better results with a filtered faced pate (from adslnation I think) with provides the extensions with filtered (and bell less I think) lines, so you don't need a filter on each phone.
OT: I asked plusnet cs to lower my snr , but after a week of Q&A I gave up and my new router (a 716 for voip) has done it for me now down to 6db and up to 7168 sync with no other changes, Had been using an st585 which synced at between 5-6K fine, then a BT Home Hub (5K6) and this one for a week. Waiting for a replacement so that voip works but sync speed is GREAT!)

Quote from: biker955 This was mentioned before, it basically disables the BELL wire.
More accurately, it filters the bell wire. What's rarely mentioned is that it also filters the two data-carrying conductors, reducing interference from TVs, thermostats etc.
If one prefers, or is forced, to plug the router/modem into an extension socket, then the i-plate can be worthwhile. Far better, though, as biker955 has found, is to fit a filtered faceplate on the master socket and plug into that, or run some Cat5e cable to a dedicated extension from the unfiltered connectors on the back of the faceplate.
OT: Any reason why particularly 955?
