Just wanted to share a little snippet of info with everyone regarding Windows live messenger and those pesky ads that keep appearing at the bottom.
If you're happy to edit your
hosts file, then add the following code to it: - open in notepad
# Windows Live Messenger ad servers
127.0.0.1 rad.msn.com
127.0.0.1 global.msads.net
127.0.0.1 rss.video.msn.com
127.0.0.1 ads1.msn.com
127.0.0.1 rad.live.com
127.0.0.1 specials.uk.msn.com
It will work straight away, no reboot required, just close messenger and re-open it.
And finally, yes..I know other messenger programs are available that don't have the ads!
