Despite many resets and re-entering info sadly still no joy, think it's time to take back to the retailer
Anyone able to recommend a good alternative router/modem ?

I also have a 7800N, my second.
The first one died within 24 hours and was returned.
The second is working perfectly and holds the ADSL rock solid.
Where did you buy it from?

Purchased it from Maplin - gave it another go this evening, another wasted two hours, no problem accessing the router but unable to obtain internet access.
The data entered (user/password) is exactly the same as entered on my old Belkin (which thankfully works fine)
Day off tomorrow so think a trip to my local Maplin store is on the cards!
