I persuaded a friend to start using an external hard drive to back up files and store photos and music
He's a bit computer illiterate and found my way of dragging and dropping files a bit confusing
I said I'd try and find if theres any programs out there(preferably free) which could make the task easier for him
Can anyone help?

Does his OS have 'Briefcase'? Works well for me to keep things in sync.
One thing I found, though - doesn't seem to work using 'My Documents', but 'Documents and Settings\Name\My Documents' does.

I notice that there are 2 versions , x64 and x86
He has 32bit vista. I'm not really clear on which version to choose
What would you suggest?

Kind regards,
Brian

I'd actually suggest using the standard backup utility built into Vista. It's perfectly OK and works well.
