BT Sport and ADSL

Hello,
As a new " convert " to PN I would be interested to know if there is a possibility in the near future ( eg: before summer '15 ) of receiving BT Sport via my ADSL .  I've looked at some previous posts and they seem to indicate that it may be possible.
I'm in the unfortunate position that I cannot have a dish on my building.
Thanks..  Smiley

Re: BT Sport and ADSL

Hi there,
There are no plans other than through the Sky box at the moment, unfortunately.
We'll let you know if this changes at any point.

It's a shame that you're not into the NBA basketball! I love it personally.  Cool

Re: BT Sport and ADSL

There must be lots of people who want the BT Sports App to view on their tablet/mobile or cast to their TV but don't want to switch to BT Broadband/BT Mobile to do so.  Also, not all of us have/want Sky for the £5.99 addon.
I hope PlusNet offers an addon to access the BT Sports App by the time the Champions League starts in the autumn.

Re: BT Sport and ADSL

There's nothing planned for this at the moment unfortunately. I know I've just said this to you via PM, but I thought I'd clarify for the community.

Re: BT Sport and ADSL

@zofbtb it's not free you know, Plusnet willl have to buy the access  and people like me who don't want it will be subsidising people like you.
So off you go to BT and pay their prices  Cheesy

Re: BT Sport and ADSL

BT retail and Plusnet are separate companies and follow different business models to give BT group different offerings in the market. BT retail offer the add ons as a loss leader. They are subsidised by the basic rental so if Plusnet start down that road the prices go up to all of us. I don't want that.

Re: BT Sport and ADSL

@PeterLoftus True for BT Broadband but BT Mobile offer their Sports App on a £10/month SIM only with (capped) 200minutes, 500MB 4g data and SMS to non bt broadband customers which wont be a loss leader. So, the addon price would logically be no more than this. It' seems that BT and Sky are happy to get money from PlusNet customers for BT Sports but BT is holding onto to the App just for their Broadband and Mobile customers. I guess the number of broadband and mobile switchers to BT by the time the Champions League comes round in the autumn will make make BT revisit this policy or not.
The BT SIM seems to be my only option ( hence getting a login and password) without switching to BT Broadband but it isn't  as good as the unlimited 4g I get for the same price from Three (with the same mins and sms). Getting BT Sports app for £10/month by buying the SIM but not using it seems a bit mad.
