BT Speedtester in Ubuntu (64 bit)

Anyone had success running the above bandwidth testing service from BT? I have tried on different Ubuntu boxes but just get grey box at top of screen where the activity bars go.

which browser are you using?  although it never gets beyond 94% for me, it does at least work in firefox.

It''s a Java problem. 
Currently it (sometimes) works - but only in SwiftFox(32 bit mode).
I'm not sure whether Swiftfox is actively maintained???

Same problem here with PCLOS. Gets to 96% then stalls with an error message.
However it works fine for me with Mepis 7 + Firefox which I also have installed.
Never tried with Ubuntu - never really enjoyed that distro.

Know it is some sort of Java problem - damn coffee cup! 
Hit and miss. Tried in Fedora 10 and worked second time after the repos installed the Java needed. Will try Ubuntu again but don't hold out much hope.
Perhaps a jump to Fedora is in order after years with Ubuntu?

I just managed it in 64 bit Firefox - Ubuntu!!!!

I rather think you will need to be on Ubuntu 8.10 to make it work - at 64 bit anyway.
Load the icedtea (sic) stuff - if it isn't already loaded and it's associated browser plugin.

I hadn't tried it since installing 8.10 (albeit 32 bit), but have now made two attempts and on both occasions FF hung and needed a forced quit.

It's failed to work (many times) but never hung.
Have you tried closing all FF windows, then starting a brand new FF - just for the BT speed test?

Just done a test on my Eeepc - 4g - linux with Firefox 2 no probem

Yes - closed and restarted FF with a new session - same result.
