BT Hub 5 wifi issues

Hi
I seem to be having wifi issues on my BT Hub 5 (Type B) the 5Ghz network seems to be rather slow and inconsistent, the speeds will be slower than the normal 2Ghz network and find this quite strange. Sometimes it's the other way round where the 2G network is slower.
I've tried different wifi channels but doesn't help in the long run.
Also not sure if related but even if speeds are at normal (35-37mb) webpage loading seems quite sluggish across all devices including phones and tablets.
Here is a speed test taken from my iPad on the 5GHz network

Here is another on the 2GHz network.

iPad is in the same room as the router approx 3 metres away.
I do have another hub 5 (type A) available.
Thanks

Re: BT Hub 5 wifi issues

Have you tried giving different names to the 2 and 5Ghz bands? Calling the 2.4Ghz - "mine2" and the 5Ghz "mine5" for example.
Some Apple products have issues if the 2 bands have the same name.

Re: BT Hub 5 wifi issues

Yes I have done that. I did that when I first got the hub.

Re: BT Hub 5 wifi issues

Clutching at straws here but try disabling TCP/IP v6 if you haven't already.
I don't think there is any difference in the Type A and Type B HH5 software other than for the chip set used to talk to the cabinet. But you may have a dodgy hub so changing them maybe the answer?

Re: BT Hub 5 wifi issues

I expect the wireless chips are totally different between the HH 5A and 5B.

Re: BT Hub 5 wifi issues

Think may hub could be a bit odd as the signal fluctuates and can have very low signal in the room.  I'm going to swap to the Type A for now and see how it goes.

Re: BT Hub 5 wifi issues

@NE, is it possibly an issue with the iPad? Can you try it elsewhere to see if you get similar results?
