I generally leave my router switched on even when the computer is not in use but I have noticed that following occasional switchoffs my download speeds tend to increase.
For instance, I usually average around 4.7Mbps download, but on a few occasions after the router has been switched off and on this has edged over 5Mbps. The upload speed remains unchanged and is usually around 383kbps.
So I just wondered if it was advisable to turn the router off occasionally or is it better to leave it on?
