BBC I PLAYER/VGA COMPONENT/AV not working now

I wanted to watch the bbc i player on my tv so I was advised to buy a vga component. everything worked ok.After i watched the programme I took out the vga and put the AV scart back in for my dvd recorder. But now I can't get AV on my TV -when I press the 'source' button nothing happens. And I can't get the AV to come on 'automatically' by inserting a DVD. Can anyone please advise me how to get AV/DVD to work? thanks

This might be a case where unplugging the TV for a short while might work.  A modern digital TV is a bit like a computer and sometimes a 'reboot' is required.
