Audiodg.exe memory leak

Every so often audiodg.exe leeks memory like a bucket with a hole.
Currently it's using over 1GB of RAM (see grab below).
A search has found a Microsoft link to a Hotfix. Has anyone else had an audiodg.exe memory leak and either used this hotfix or found another solution?
A reboot does solve it and it may not return for several weeks or months but I don't want to perform a reboot at this time.
Firefox also leaks but I usually solve that by quitting and restarting it.

Re: Audiodg.exe memory leak

[quote author="KB 981013"]To resolve this issue, you have to restart the Windows Audio service (Audiosrv)
That KB article tells you what to do to avoid rebooting - restart the Windows Audio service, via running services.msc

Re: Audiodg.exe memory leak

Last time I tried that something went wrong and audio was completely lost and the only solution at that time was to reboot.
Tried it again and it seems to have solved it. Audiodg.exe back to a nice low level and still have sound coming from the PC Smiley
