Asus 8800GTS 320mb overclock!

i just wanted to know if id be able to overclock my 8800GTS as it seems too high with the heat 70c idle and 90c max ive got my CPU overclocked but would like a boost in performance just to beat my friends 3dmax scores,
ive had this card for some time now but since day one its been spitting out heat im using nvidia control panel. so if anyones got any ideas pls reply.

The 8800GTS runs a little hot anyway just at standard timings so if you really want to get any more from it you will need to look into a third party cooler and some quality thermal paste
Its the only way forward for your card as at those temps if you push it any more its gonna say bye bye, you could also look at your case cooling and make sure the air is all flowing in the right direction front to back and of course theres enough of it

Thanks Bill, My case cooling is all set right air in from front fan to the back two.
but its not meant to get that hot is it???
P.S i meant 3d mark not max still good software if you ever get the chance too play about with it.

Why not leave it alone and compete with your friends to see who has the most reliable video card?

You would do well to leave it alone if it's running hot.
A better option may be to overclock your Core 2 Duo instead using the motherboard BIOS. I took my 2ghz to 2.5ghz and it gave a 20% improvement in graphic performance
