Just thought i would ask here ? if you look at my sig below i have a Good PC

But am having a Odd problem , i keep getting artifacts on text after i close my game , some times 2-3 hours playing with no problem But then i see this ????  any ideas , i am going to RMA the GFX card but thought i would ask

Have you tried to downgrade the drivers to see if it is related to the current drivers?

Also a quick google search shows card failures like this to be common.

@SpendLessTime  yes i have tried several drivers still same results

Onboard GFX are ok , most common answer i was given was memory on card was overheating .

but test show all within parameters , weird

Always worth trying different drivers but as you've done that, it does sound like a hardware issue. Hopefully it is still under guarantee as last time I had a card fail, it was outside

Yes thats typical fails just as warranty runs out 😣.i got 14 month left on this card 3year warranty
I have heard a lot of good reports about ASUS RMA support , i may get lucky if they cant fix it they may replace with latest equivalent . the 980 is no longer mainstream card ,, i may get a new 1080 👍as a replacement 😀

@rongtw - Have you checked the fans on the card, that they're not obstructed and running at the correct speed? A blow out with a can of compressed air or a quick going over with the vacuum nozzle can do wonders. Just because the fans look clean doesn't mean there aren't dust bunnies caught in the heatsink.

Yes i have access to a compressor and remove said bunnies regular .
I take complete tower next door regularly and remove card to ensure all cooling fins are clear 👍

Just a bit of a update , the 980 now is with ASUS   i received a MSI 680 on loan from a friend in Holland 2 days ago and have yet to see any problems

Are you referring to those black squares? I've seen this a number of times and the cause was a corrupt font. Don't know if this is your problem but it's certainly looking similar. Can you identify the font being used?

@MKSlinky thanks for that   but my 980 is still with ASUS RMA

BUT i have not seen this problem with the 680 i have borrowed , so it points to the 980 as the problem

There you go !! ASUS have been in touch with me today   they cant fix it ,,,,,,  Credit now being done £560 to scan

Now i have to chose a replacement

You paid how much for that GFX card? Holy [-Censored-]..., talk about how the other half lives!! Got any old 'expensive' pc bit's you no longer need? My PC is made from egg boxes and held together with chewing gum cos I couldn't afford real Sellotape. Please nice man

@MKSlinky ye it was one of top of the range when i bought it   only because i had a little inheritance  .

It was supposed to last me a few years Ps in 2015 i spent near to 2k on the full set up
