Is there such a beast (free), I've Googled and got nowhere.
Rather than keep clicking on Speedtest.net at intervals during the day & night, is there a mac app that will do this for me, say every 4 hours, in the background, purely out of interest ?
I'm not up to writing an applescript to do this.
Something like http://testmy.net/auto ; , which give inaccurate results for me, and appears to reset the connection each time, according to the blurb.

At any given moment in the universe many things happen. Coincidence is a matter of how close these events are in space, time and relationship.

However, it looks like I cannot connect via wi-fi, which would be a problem for me.
Does the Whitebox provide a wireless network?
No. In the European project, the Whitebox does not provide a wireless network.
The wireless capabilities of the device are used purely to passively monitor nearby wireless networks for traffic, ensuring that no tests are run when the line is active.
Perhaps I can monitor the line with the Whitebox via Ethernet, and still connect via Wi-fi to my PN Router.
Let's see what happens now I've registered.

Quote The Whitebox operates as an Ethernet bridge, co-existing with an existing modem/router. All wired devices should connect through the Whitebox. Wireless devices should continue to connect to their existing router:
Hope that helps.

Quote from: w23 You could try signing up for Samknows: http://www.samknows.com/broadband/signup, it's free if you're accepted and platform independent.
Quote from: PlusComUK Looks interesting, I'll give it a go.
Let's see what happens now I've registered.
I've been accepted, monitoring equipment expected in the next 14 days.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Very easy to install.
Some display problems on dashboard webpage, any of 4 browsers, possibly because I am using Apple iMac running Mountain Lion OSX 10.8.2
I cannot move widgets, and any I add disappear after log-out, or page reload.
SamKnow query raised.
Anyway, here are my first results, after a couple of hours, pretty much as per speedtest....

Unfortunately it doesn't support 5GHz networks so if the tests run while I'm using my iPad they'll be inaccurate.
