Anyone recommend a free FTP client

Hi All
Could anyone recommend a good free FTP client?
Is SmartFTP the one to go for? I've used it in the past but was wondering if there is anything else out there which is better.
Thanks
Jeff

And for IE or a stand alone FTP client? I currently use Smart FTP but have folks found better? I hear Orbit Downloader is good?
Any suggestions appreciated especially clients that have excellent scheduling (gotta get them off peak mb's)!

I've always used Ipswitch WS_FTP Pro, however there is a Lite edition.

If you are talking about FTP downloads only, GetRight has scheduling

Re: Anyone recommend a free FTP client

I have a licensed copy of Getright but lately it seems to be getting a bit bloated and has trouble with certain links thus my decision to look around. I just noticed 'Free Download Manager' http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/ Anyone tried that?

Re: Anyone recommend a free FTP client

WS_FTP Pro has scheduling.
You can get a 30 day free trial of the Professional edition at http://www.ipswitch.com/_download/wsftppro.asp
Then you can decide if you like it or not. It's £27 for a single user license if you don't want product support from Ipswitch.

Re: Anyone recommend a free FTP client

There is an add-on to FireFox which does basic FTP very easily. If you just need to transfer a few files occasionally then it does an excellent job.
