Anti virus - Real World Test - surprise for me

http://chart.av-comparatives.org/chart1.php?chart=chart2&year=2015&month=9&sort=1&zoom=2
I know it is only one month but I never expected Windows Defender to do better than Plusnet Protect a.k.a McAfee on Windows 7

@oldjim
They didn't test Microsoft Defender at all in that report you linked to, I think you may have been looking at BITDefender by Bitdefender.com.

How can an independent test not look at the most popular software especially when it is free with every install? Makes you question how independent it really is.

OJ is referring to the white line of '...' that represents the 'Out of box protection' as provided by Windows Defender in Windows 7+

McAfee really is dreadful software, very prone to letting viruses through in my experience.

Windows Defender is Decent despite popular belief , especially if you add malwarebytes and some common sense Smiley
