Re: Anti Virus

No idea about istuff. Android devices are more likely to get malware rather than a virus per say. There are several FREE av products available. My current favourite is Hornet AV.

Re: Anti Virus

I've had both an iPad & iPhone for years and never had a problem.
We have many of them in the family and no one has had a problem.
However, if you use JailBreak then you may be opening doors!  Cheesy

Re: Anti Virus

Had Androids for some time and never installed any AV - yet.
I only download from Google Play and only after reading many of the reviews.
I believe the risk to be minimal but still there but don't use it for much more than the odd bit of surfing/occasional emails and making/receiving a few calls over the month. So a very light user.

@strat
they even know every room you frequent via the GPS etc
I always turn off the GPS on my devices, unless I am travelling away from home town, that way they cant tell if I went to the kitchen or bathroom  Smiley Wink Tongue

Re: Anti Virus

As long as they don't use it to target a missile they're more than welcome.

Annoys me that some apps refuse to work if they detect a rooted android device, Barclay's banking app was one of them claimed it wouldn't work on rooted phones because they weren't secure.
didn't stop you logging onto on-line banking from the same site using the website through, Needless to say It's a policy that's lost them more than one customer.
Having a device rooted/jailbroken doesn't make it inherently less secure it's what you do with that  extra access that makes the difference
