I have inherited one of these jobbies and wondered if I could use it with Plusnet ? I'm guessing I'll have to put all the setup info in manually rather than use their setup disk, am I correct ? Sorry I'm clueless when it comes to wireless

You will probably have to dig around quite a bit to find some alternate firmware to "unlock" the router.
Home hubs have a feature which means they come ready locked to BT.

Oh I didn't realise that may be the case.
Hopefully someone may have already done the digging and post

It is possible with a bit of jiggery pokery, but it depends which version it is.
If it's a version 1 (small white box): http://www.jarviser.co.uk/jarviser/hubunlocking.html
The curved ones are version 2. Can't find anything on them as yet.

As long as it has a new (ish) firmware on it it WILL work with plusnet, BUT the voip will not, bit of a pain as I got one of these of fleabay to use voip on it.
The unlocked firmware doesn't recognise the hand set so you can use voip but not using the handset supplied, you need an other one plugged into the phone socket on the back.
