Android Lollipop 5 and above (ie subsequent updates)

Not sure where to put this...  anyone using this o/s on a Nexus device which has difficulty holding on to a 5GHz wifi signal, meaning it keeps dropping out with anything other than a 100% signal? If so, have you discovered any work-arounds?

I've not noticed a problem using a HomeHub5, a Nexus 7 (2013) and a Nexus 6 (although the latter is currently running Android M).

Re: Android Lollipop 5 and above (ie subsequent updates)

Android 4.4 broke 5GHz on my Nexus 4 and haven't been able to connect to any network on the 5GHz band since. None of the suggested fixes I could find have ever worked..

Re: Android Lollipop 5 and above (ie subsequent updates)

As Android is based on a LINUX kernel it doesn't need changing.

And..... as Michael Caine said.......

"Not a lot of people know that"....                                                                            (nor do they care...... to them, it is Android... )

so it should be in the title......

Re: Android Lollipop 5 and above (ie subsequent updates)

To return to the original question. I've got Lollipop running on a Nexus 4 and 2013 Nexus 7 - no problems with 5GHz on an Asus RT-N66U.

Re: Android Lollipop 5 and above (ie subsequent updates)

The only channels I've managed to (sort of) get 5GHz working on are 36 and 48. Dualling the bandwidth wrecks it. It was fine with Android 4.4.4.
However, I take comfort in knowing that lots of people seem to have this problem, even if Google aren't doing anything about it!
