Does anybody have the appstore & the Amazon store app installed and working?
I ask as I recently installed the store app, and now my appstore is returning a page not found when launching.

Why can't a company the size if Amazon get into the Google Appstore?
I don't like jumping hoops to install apps.

They don't wan to pay Google, this way they have an income stream from the apps.
I use it 'cause they have a FREE app every day, got quite a few decent ones for free.

Sorry, wasn't certain you meant the Android app.
I've certainly had it working (probably still is but I don't use it much) on my tablet.
Google probably won't allow a competing appstore to be installed via their store.

You have to 'Allow Unknown Sources' on your phone to let in Amazon apps.
I had to do this to allow the 'Amazon' app to update.
Once it was done I turned off 'Allow Unknown Sources' as otherwise it's a potential security risk.

I know I have had it running for years!, but since I installed the store app it has stopped.

I had both installed but this morning the store app was working but the app app wasn't.
Have uninstalled it but my apps are still working (probably 'cause the store app does the DRM), will try re-installing later.

The Amazon app on my Ubuntu phone works fine.

Yes but do you have BOTH the Amazon store and app-store apps installed? I can't even re-install the app-store at the moment.
