Adobe Flash Security

Worries about the vulnerability of Adobe Flash seem to be on the rise. There is just been the third security update in a week to fix known flaws and the expectation of others to come.

Re: Adobe Flash Security

Would this affect Chromium and Pepperflash?

Re: Adobe Flash Security

The vulnerabilities apply to all browsers.  Whether Flash is allowed by default will vary between browsers, and different versions of the same browser.
There are useful plugins like Flashblock for Chrome.  Often used more to reduce the irritating effects that Flash is often used for.

Re: Adobe Flash Security

OK.. I have been getting messages at the top of the screen about Adobe Flash being blocked... and have to click something to make it work...
If it is "so bad" that firefox has to block it.... what alternatives are available that do the same job ?

Re: Adobe Flash Security

@shutter I have been getting them too and it's annoying to be honest. I use Google Chromium with pepper flash ( I'm using Linux desktop ) might be a possibility for windows? As far as I know pepper flash is not Adobe flash but built by Google so I think I answered my own question in my previous post. And to be honest Chromium is much faster than Firefox I might just be converted lol.
Other than that how has HTML5 progressed?

Re: Adobe Flash Security

I've seen online videos that pop up a message "I see you don't have Adobe Flash Player. Would you like to watch an HTML5 version instead?"

Re: Adobe Flash Security

I have uninstalled the Flash ActiveX, the NPAPI (whatever that was) and Adobe Air.
Enough is enough with this vulnerable addon/plugin
Let's be careful out there !
