"UPnP action 'AddPortMapping' from ip=192.168.1.xx(Success)"
The Event Log in my TG585v7 8.2.6.5 is being flooded with these added/deleted messages.
All I have is my computer...ethernet connection and IPlayer via homeplugs to my Humax Foxsat+ PVR.
The proliferation of the entries hinders the usefulness of the logs.
I hope someone can tell me how to prevent the entries. Please!

No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.

Fair point, but in this case the clearance rate would have to be diarrhoeal.

UPnP is a way of being able to open and close ports and redirect them to specified computers on your network via a an agreed standard / protocol.
Basically it allows software vendors to open a port on your router to accept incoming traffic (eg skype, some P2P software etc). Many people turn it off because its a security risk however many people (including myself) have found it useful. A few years back there was a flash hack - a webpage could display a flash image and silenty run code to open up your ports which left you vulnerable to attack.
It's possible that iplayer is doing it or your PVR. Most bits of software these days will default back to accepting incoming data and commands via an outgoing TCP connection if they can't act as a server/ open a port in your firewall/ router.

I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

Have switched it off. IPlayer on the PVR works OK without it.
Thanks all!
