Re: 200Mbps Powerline + 5 port unmanaged switch for £31.98

For anyone not sure how this would be used, you'd have your router in the master socket and an ethernet cable from that to one of the powerlines. Somewhere else in the house you'd have the other powerline with an ethernet cable to the switch. You'd then have four 100Mbps ports available there.

Re: 200Mbps Powerline + 5 port unmanaged switch for £31.98

Or:-
I have a television and a Raspberry Pi (next to each other); hence only one powerline ethernet cable.
So I bought a 5 port switch (for about £8 ).
I used the following:-
Powerline ethernet - port 5 and onwards to my router...
TV - port 1 (for catch-up programmes).
Raspberry - port 2
This allows me to use the Raspberry to replay films etc stored on my PC on the TV via NFS.

Re: 200Mbps Powerline + 5 port unmanaged switch for £31.98

I have a couple of 200Mbs homeplugs shifting files at around 62Mbs.
I recently upgraded with a pair of 500Mbs units.
What a difference :o....I'm now shifting data across the network at 63Mbs Undecided
Both units are in trailing sockets as when plugged into a wall socket the ethernet socket is at ground level preventing access for a ethernet plug.
A bit of electrical work is required.
