Youview+ Android App

My new youview+ box is installed OK and seems to be working fine. But the Youview+ Android App can't find my box.

I have tried all 4 android devices we have - all fail to connect.

All connected to the same PlusNet router, so on the same network.

Any ideas?

 

As an aside, the box seems to be able to record 2 DTV channels at the same time while watching a third. How many tuners are inside!?

Hi @colinc, sorry to hear you're having problems connecting the YouView app to your set top box.

 

When you're attempting to connect this, can you confirm if you're going in to the settings on your YouView box by pressing the YouView button on the remote, selecting 'Settings' -> 'Device Management' -> 'Mobile Devices' -> 'Connect Device'

This should provide you with an 8 digit code to enter on to the app when you select the option to 'Enter Connection Code'

 

If you've been through these and it's not working, could you advise if you're getting an error message at all.

Mine isn't working like that.

On the YouView+ box it has settings-> mobile devices but that just gives instructions - it says to open the app on your phone and press the connect button. This searches for a few minutes and then says freeview box not found.

The app has error code YVM5010

I have followed all the help associated with this error code.

Can I just confirm that you've checked all of the steps here:

 

Can I also just double check that you don't have more than one YouView box connected? We are aware of an issue where devices won't always connect to a second box if the first is powered up.

Thank you for confirming you have tried all the steps.

Just to confirm, is your mobile connected via wireless to the router?

If it is, are you able to try the app on another smart phone?

FIXED IT !

I have two wifi systems in my house - one directly from my PNRouter and the other from an AP connected to the PNRouter with homeplugs.

My tablet will only find my YV+ box if my tablet is connected to the Router wifi directly.
