I use an old BT YouView Box to view and record FreeView channels. Although I am on Plusnet Fibre (wonderful!) I don't view IPTV channels - just the free ones. Been working well for months.
But suddenly stopped working - now goes straight to maintenance screen.
Only "reset software" has any success at all - and this goes through a start-up routine that ends back at maintenance.
Reading the other threads on similar topics, this seems to be quite common now.
Seems like a software upgrade has gone a bit wrong?
Is there somewhere to download working software to a usb stick to over-write faulty software?
It seems that an engineer visited someone else and used this to fix their problem?
The only think I can think of to try here would be to hook it up to a BT broadband line and see if it updates then. Maybe factory reset whilst its connected to it.
Sorry we can't be more helpful.
