Record several channels?

Is it possible to record two terrestrial channels and an extra 1 or 2 internet channels?
If not does anybody know why this is?
Thanks

Re: Record several channels?

I don't think it is.
Most likely because it's a cheap 2.5" hard drive in there and it couldn't write to disk fast enough. Also the processor may struggle to decode four channels at once.

Re: Record several channels?

Just to confirm, you can only record two channels at a time - from whatever source. You can, of course, playback a recording or view another channel while recording two channels, though to record 2 channels and view a third you are limited to:
- 2 internet channels and 1 freeview channel
- 2 freeview channels and 1 internet channel
- 3 freeview channels from 2 multiplexes; a combination such as bbc1, bbc2 and c4
Channels per multiplex lists are available from ukfree.tv

Nope - it's just a limitation of the YouView box software.
The data rate for video channels is low enough that the processor and disk could easily keep up with double the current workload.
The limit on terrestrial channels is obvious, but there's no reason why several internet channels couldn't also be recorded in parallel.
