Do I need an external aerial for youview from plusnet+box question

Hi 

I have a couple of questions about youview from plusnet if anyone can help please?

1. Do I need an external aerial, or are all the channels provided through the internet?

2. If I buy a basic youview box, can I upgrade it to a youview+ box at a later date by buying one from Amazon/eBay  etc. (Human/BT/TalKTalk etc.) Will that work? Or must I get  one though plusnet to enable the recording function?

Hi,

For question 1 you will need a standard TV aerial to pick up the normal Freeview channels. Only the extra paid subscription channels are provided via IPTV.

For 2, I'm not really too sure about but I think I've read posts from other people on here who have been able to use their old YouView box from BT etc, to work on Plusnet.

@hmptec I’m using a BT Humax Youview DTR T2100 and my neighbour uses a TalkTalk YouView DN372T both work fine with Plusnets TV service inc the subscription channels.
