Casting BT sports app to TV

As a plusnet customer, I took up the offer of BT sports to my mobile phone.  I can get the action on my phone OK, however I have been unable to cast it to my smart Samsung TV despite the promotion saying it can be done.  How do I do it?

Does your Samsung TV have chromecast built in?

My Sony one does and shows in the app, but i prefer to cast to the apple tv which works ok.

Re: Casting BT sports app to TV

Hi @Phil48,

Thank you for getting in touch.

You would need either built in Chromecast on your TV as @dvorak advised or a HDMI connected Chromecast device. If you have one of these, please follow the guide below to cast the app.

1. Ensure the TV is on the correct channel.
2. Access the app as normal.
3. Play the video you wish to view.
4. Tap the cast button and select which screen you wish to cast to.

You can also find more information on how to cast to your TV here.

Thank you.

Re: Casting BT sports app to TV

Thanks for your advice Dvorak and Jubby, but I wasn't sure if I needed chromecast or not, because when I was on U-tube on my phone, the cast icon highlighted and I was able to cast U-tube to my TV.  Soo I thought if it does that for U-tube, it should be able to do it for BT sports.  Or was it only because I have U-tube on my TV that it was able to cast?

I take it that an Amazon Firestick can't act as a chromecast?

Re: Casting BT sports app to TV

Hi @Phil48,

YouTube casting is done via Wi-Fi and is possible with the YouTube app being on your TV.

Rather than casting, if you have a laptop that has a HDMI connection, you can connect the laptop to the TV and log into the BT Sport website then stream the content via the web browser.
