Spoke to a chap on the phone called Ashley who advised that the bt sport app was not added to my account because of an issue at plusnet side, this could alll have been prevented. Thank you to Ashley for taking a proper look.

I am sorry that this issue has taken a while to get to the bottom of, and I am very glad to hear that Ashley has helped you while you were on the phone. I have passed this feedback on to Ashley.
While investigating I have discussed this further with Ashley and he has left a ticket on your account that you can view here
Once again I do apologise and we will continue to monitor until there is a resolution.

Sorry to see that's an issue again. We're still working to fix the issue that Ashley mentioned on ticket 187378492 so there may still be some issues in the meantime until that's been fully resolved. - Adam

Thanks for that, what doesnt make sense is that it was working again after getting the email from plusnet to register account last week with BT and now its stopped again, crazy.

I see that @adamwalker updated the ticket 187378492 yesterday stating that we are still awaiting a fix for this issue, and that he will be checking up on this and updating you accordingly.
