Re: "no connection to IMAP Server"

Hmmm, saw one of these the other day too but not sure what caused it (it was one of our Net-Ops bods who asked me to check whether or not somebody was still on the trial). I'll catch up with them when they get into the office and ask them to take a look...
Edit: Looks like the mailbox component was rebuilt on the the first example I saw and I've just been able to login to that account. I've done the same with your mailboxes so give it an hour or two and shout up if you're still having problems.

Re: "no connection to IMAP Server"

I have had 7 years of good service from Plusnet...and that, today, is a fine recommendation.  Wink
BUT, what is happening to the Post?
It comes and goes at will?...................

It used to come and go at will but now it is gone foreverHuhHuhHuhLike me!!!!!!!!!
I joined this Beta to get away from similar problems with the basic mail service and all was sweetness and light for a few weeks.....but I am now tearing out what little hair I have left  Angry

Re: "no connection to IMAP Server"

Is anyone in Plusnet reading this HuhHuh?Huh
The problems I have repeatedly reported were acknowledged by PN at first but now nobody is there.
I have gone back to the Squirrel Mail and putting up with its failings.
Thinking of trying another server.

Re: "no connection to IMAP Server"

So presumably the problem is intermittent as I've just logged into your mailbox fine using the beta platform?
Might I take this opportunity to remind you that a full beta trial was never launched and this forum is only actually visible to a small selection of people. If you're having account specific problems then you're much better off raising an official support ticket as Chris suggested in a previous post.
It seems odd that you get IMAP errors using one Webmail platform but not the other as they both use the IMAP protocol to display your messages. I can't help but wonder whether or not it's in some way related to the amount of folders you have on your mail space...

Re: "no connection to IMAP Server"

Thanks for your reply
I was not aware that the number of folders came into play.
Please tell me how many folders and contents are allowed.
Also, although I have gone back to the squirrel mail, The service is poor and intermittent still which was the original reason I wanted to get to the beta trial. The beta one was fantastic at first and still is....when it behaves itself.
cheers

Re: "no connection to IMAP Server"

So is it still the same intermittent IMAP errors you're seeing Eddie? There isn't an upper limit on mailboxes as such although I have encountered problems in the past where customers have a lot of them.

Yes......... (to recap: I keep getting  "login failed")
But the fault is intermittent.
This morning everything is OK.
but before today there was a period of several days when I could not connect using 'Beta'...........and squirrel is painfully slow  Sad
