reliability

Am l just unlucky, or is unreliability normal service with plusnet.  With virgin for 4yrs with just the odd 5-10min loss of signal, lyr with sky, no loss, change to plusnet, first week or so fine, this weekend disaster, on and off all friday night sat morning, usually stays on 5 to lomin at a time then lost. Back ok for a while, tonight on and off again, lost 3 long emails, tried to post on here 3-4 times, goes off, wont elaborate further or will lose signal again, info on what is happening, is it just my connection, others, what.

Re: reliability

Disconnections are definitely *not* the normal service to be expected from Plusnet. It looks like a fault might have developed on your line.
Is the problem that the router is losing its connection to the exchange or if you use wireless to connect to the router is it the wireless connection that is lost?

Re: reliability

Another thought. Virgin is cable, Sky probably LLU, but PN are plain old BT Wholesale

Re: reliability

Hi there,
Your connection looks to have been up for over 16 hours now, and 7 hours immediately before that.
Is it the wireless that's dropping? If so have you tried changing the channel? If you're using the Thomson router you can find out how to do this here.

Re: reliability

hi, thanks for replies, l,m not technically minded so will show my son your replies, the router is a thomson with all the lights on, plus when signal has been lost the phone line has still been available, we will try your suggestions before contacting p n again, now feeling a bit calmer, steam subsiding at present,
