I just did a quick sppeedtest with speedtest.net (12.30 pm) Saturday,, and unlike when i used to test when with talk talk the dials show a smooth progressive reading (NOT JERKING UP AND DOWN)
So i think we can safely say its FAR FAR better than it was with talk talk and slightly faster as wel ;)l

Bt test shows about 3mb
Speedtest.net shows between 256 and 1200 and varying dramatically
Pages are timing out so i guess speedtest.net is correct.

but when i use speedtest .net I can see from the way the test is procceeding that its not very stable
Unlike bt test, which u can only use three hourly
With peedtest.net if i do a dozen tests one after another, each one is different
I will keep an eye on it

.........................................................................................
I was a little surprised to get an email regarding my broadband usage this month
By comparison to previouse months it appears i have used MORE bandwith in TWO weeks than than in the WHOLE month for every previouse month
Baring in mind all previouse errors have been on your part, i have checked this carefully.
Today especially, i am confused as to how i could have used 0.60 GB between midnight and 1 am (ie less than an hour) when my whole family were in bed by 1am.
And there were no computers on in this household early this morning.
We do not download any music, videos, games or the such like.
And my wireless router is protected to prevent hacking.
I will now be monitoring this very closely, but i am sure that yet again this will be an error on your part,
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY.
When we initially connected to plusnet, for some time we had NO broadband, about 5 days
Once the error had been found, i was informed that My broadband had been connected to someone elses account,,, IE they were billed for my use !
I have little faith in your system so far, being with plusnet has been one error after another, including being double charged last month for my telephone service !!!!
If this continues i will be going over to BT and i will NOT be held to any contractoral agreement on your part as the service has NOT BEEN FIT FOR USE
Answer in full or do not bother at all, I am sick to the back teeth with this

Quote from: tihson but when i use speedtest .net I can see from the way the test is procceeding that its not very stable
It might be a hardware/software issue as jelv has suggested, always worth trying a few different speedtests. The one here should be pretty reliable asthe service is hosted at our data centres in London where your broadband connection terminates.
Quote from: tihson New one this month I got Double charge Line rentall

Sorry about that, I believe it was due to an internal problem that has since been fixed (ref: 57622). Our developers would have refunded the monies anyway as part of the problem fix had you not been in touch already.
Quote As for call charges, theres one on bill that was phoned about 12 times, and i think if it was X factor ten were unobtainable, and two successfull so i got charged for the unobtainables 1 minute @35p each appx £3.50 0ver charge.
I've checked the raw data we receive from Wholesale and all of the calls have a call duration associated with them albeit only a few seconds. When you were getting unobtainable tones the call was being connected and by the looks of things the minimum charge was about £1 for each attempt!

I've checked your figures against the data we have held in our RADIUS/usage collection database and they seem to tally. Here's a breakdown by day for this month split into upload and download. Notice that on some days you've uploaded almost 0.5GB of data! Was this intentional? If not then I suspect you've something running in the background on one of your machines that you're not aware about. Failing that, if you have a wireless router make sure it's fully secured as somebody might be using your connection without your knowledge.

You uploaded almost as much as you downloaded on that day. It can be split by hour as follows. Anybody come home around 6pm and start using the Internet that day? From what I can tell you didn't download 0.60GB between midnight and 1am

Quote And there were no computers on in this household early this morning.
That would suggest that somebody might be using your wireless network. Do any other devices connect to your router? Mobile phones/PDA's etc. What happens if you turn your router/modem off for a day? If no usage is recorded then it supports the theory that something's amiss at your end.
Quote We do not download any music, videos, games or the such like.
When was the last time you ran a full virus/malware scan on all of your machines?
Quote And my wireless router is protected to prevent hacking.
That answers my earlier question then! Certainly worth double checking though.
Quote I will now be monitoring this very closely, but i am sure that yet again this will be an error on your part,
Why not use a local monitoring application like this one on each of your machines?
Quote PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY.
When we initially connected to plusnet, for some time we had NO broadband, about 5 days
Once the error had been found, i was informed that My broadband had been connected to someone elses account,,, IE they were billed for my use !
Were you told that another customer was billed for your usage because I can't see how this would have happened given the nature of your initial fault?
I am sorry that you had problems initially getting connected and please accept my apologies for the double billing. Investigating your usage concerns though doesn't suggest to me that there's a problem based on the data and systems I have access to.
I hope some of that helps.
