is my pro package all it should be??

Hey all my 1st post here
I've recently upgraded to the pro package my expected line speed is 13mb but i must admit to not knowing how to read these kb, kB/s
after 12am i usually get a great speed but feel I'm being speed shaped during the daytime and evening which is what i upgraded to pro to avoid
I like coming in in the evening and watching a film online but recently have been getting some lousy results and hoped you experts could make sense of these various readings from mybroadbandspeed and explain to me weather I'm getting normal results (for PN) or something is way out of wack Crazy
i will provide any other info ness on request

get this speed alot between 5pm and 11pm  Cry

one of the faster speeds I achieve Cheesy

Re: is my pro package all it should be??

I'm suspecting that you may be suffering from exchange contention. As the exchange checker is not being updated at the moment it's rather difficult to check that out. Sad

Re: is my pro package all it should be??

Hi and welcome to the Forums Cheesy
Do you find that the speeds jump up at a particular time, or is it a more gradual increase?
You're definitely being profiled correctly on our network and speedtest traffic should be prioritised highly regardless of your package.
Are the speeds consistent across other speed checkers? I'm particularly interested in results from BT Speedtester.
After all that, get a fault in the queue by visiting http://faults.plus.net

VP capacity at this exchange is currently showing as Green.
BT have advised that this exchange is enabled for WBC on 21CN
You can view recent Service Outages for this exchange here
BT has published DSL Max upgrade information for this exchange

I've just noticed that your upload speed is also slow, suggesting there's something on your computer using your bandwidth. Have you done a full virus scan? Closed any downloading / Bittorrent traffic?

Re: is my pro package all it should be??

Hi Ben,  I've been using Mcaffe and spybot for years and on my laptop I use Comodo in stealth mode.  Mcaffe and comodo auto update signatures and I update spybot at least twice a month or if I suspect foul play
frostwire bittorrent is hardly used and is disabled from auto startup, seriously must use it once a month if that
my bulk downloads come from rapidshare and megaupload and are 90% movies to watch online

Speed used to be awesome after 12am on the dot, I was getting 1.8 MB/s I think I've seen it at 2.6MB/s too but of late the after 12am rule has been inconsistent too but averaging on the negative side

Thanks for that. Can you also try running some speedtests with McAfe and Spybot disabled please?

Please hold off updating the ticket as this pushed it to the back of the queue. Someone from the Faults Team will be in touch in due course.
