can't find out what's available

I'm looking to go fibre ~
SuperfastCornwall told me last year that my CAB(17) wasn't included in the local FTTC roll-out as it was scheduled to become FTTP. This seems to be confirmed by the Openreach information ~

The new BT Broadband Availability checker has been saying "available by end of March 2013", but today that seems to have changed to "Available" !!

BRILLIANT! - except it says FTTC... that's not FTTP... I wonder what I can actually get
so, I come to plus.net to find out if either is available, and which, and when
only to find the main site won't tell me Sad - if I input all my details I get ~ "The server returned a "500 Internal Server Error".
aarrgghh! ~ what can I get and when can I get it? - please help plus.net

Re: can't find out what's available

It looks like you can only get FTTC. If you look at the attachment on the first post here you'll see:
"Our records show the following FTTP network service information for these premises....."
Which I suggest means FTTP is due (should have been due last month or the month before... still no sign though). Still, 80Mb is better than 9!

Re: can't find out what's available

Hi there,
Really sorry to hear you had an issue checking this on our website!
I've just been checking a few sets of details myself and can't see any issues to be honest but we'll remain vigilant.
Feel free to DM me some details so I can check from here or give our sales guys a call if you'd like to have a chat with us and check that at the same time.

Re: can't find out what's available

DM sent last night as requested, no reply
tried main site this morning at 2:30am (thinking low traffic then) site claimed to be "down for maintenance"
just tried again now, got the same "The server returned a "500 Internal Server Error"
so, a whole day gone with no useful response Angry

Re: can't find out what's available

Giving the Sales team a call on 0800 432 0080 (up to 9pm including weekends) is probably the quickest way to get this information. The Digital Care Team are unlikely to be here again until Monday.

I don't want to buy anything, I just want to find out what is available

Re: can't find out what's available

Well even I can see that the checker says that you'll get FTTC with a speed of 55.1 megs. What could be clearer than that?

Re: can't find out what's available

what could be clearer is that both Superfast-Cornwall and BT have said I would be getting FTTP, (in writing)
I want to know what is actually available - as very clearly laid out in my opening post
unfortunatley it looks like Plus.net aren't interested

Re: can't find out what's available

Why don't you contact BT amd Superfast Cornwall again pointing out what the BT wholesale checker says - I fail to see why Plusnet should be expected to find out why other organisations seem to have got it wrong

Re: can't find out what's available

Your options:
Wait for one of the Digital Care team to respond on here to tell you you can get FTTC with a speed of 55.1 megs.
Ring 0800 432 0080 to be told you can get FTTC with a speed of 55.1 megs.
(Plusnet use the BT Wholesale checker so it is guaranteed that PN will say the same as that says)
Do as Oldjim suggested.

Re: can't find out what's available

I can't order anything as ~
1. I don't know what is actually available
2. The "what's available" checker on the main page still returns "The server returned a "500 Internal Server Error"
3. giving up and just trying to order FTTC through the website also returns "The server returned a "500 Internal Server Error"
I was asking plus.net as I had exhausted everything I could think of and hoped they had some internal system with better information
I don't particularly want to waste the time of the "sales team" phoning with random enquiries that may or may not lead to an order
(especially as I once had TalkTalk try to take over my line from a similar occasion (not that the same could happen here))

Re: can't find out what's available

That's a really odd issue, I never received a private message from you though? Mind giving it another go so I can try and replicate this problem?

Re: can't find out what's available

done

but also, I gave up trying to find out what is available and just phoned up and ordered whatever they can install
hopefully someone is coming next Tuesday to connect me to FTTC (still wish it was FTTP though)
anyone know when FoD will be available?
