URGENT - Question ID: 31710672 can someone at Plusnet chase before 5.30 today?

I've replied to the support question that a BT engineer should be booked to fix my broadband for tomorrow (as that was the earliest appointment I was offered) but I've had no feedback and don't know whether I should be taking the day off work?  Undecided

Thanks for making the booking for today @8am-1pm. I've taken the day off work however BT haven't bothered showing up (tbh I'm not surprised - inlaws have had this trouble too with BT when appointments have been booked).
Nobody from BT has called or emailed to tell me otherwise and I have no idea if/when the engineer will turn up.  Angry Can someone at plusnet chase or give me the engineer's number?
I bet if I started billing BT at my work hourly rate they'd be here sharpish.

Hi brownb2,
I've just had a look at your fault following this post and can see a sudden flurry of notes has been added (though there's no detail, just notes to say 'KCI activity' and 'repair in progress') which I suspect means that an engineer is either working on it from the exchange or possibly at your premises - have you seen anyone at all?
Please let me know if not and I'll call up and chase this straight away for you.

I've just phoned up and spoke to somebody who'd obviously knew I'd be calling or familiar with the question (at least its nice to know Plusnet's on the ball Smiley ). They were meant to be chasing the engineer to find out what happened and giving me a call back/updating the question - they informed me someone might have changed and fixed something at the exchange and not come out, although I'm pessimistic as I've got two open remote desktops VPNing to my work atm to get at least some work done and I've not seen any bb disconnection since I logged on at ~8.30 this morning.
[EDIT]My other concern was that they may still turn up tomorrow as the days I requested included tomorrow - I was informed this would not be the case but a check was also being done to make sure that the dates are correct with BT. [/EDIT]

Hi there, thanks for your time on the phone. The appointment is definitely confirmed booked for tomorrow morning between 8 and 1, hopefully there'll be good news to follow.

Thanks for the call - I guess it  could be worse. I'm hoping the test disconnect's increase in sync speed by +100mbits was a good omen!

I lost all phone and broadband for 30 minutes after the BT engineer left - that got me panicky the missus likes her flash browser games on an evening (and work might not appreciate me not VPN'ing much).
Both seems to be back now and sync'd at 6327 - I'd like to think it was the panicky message I left on the support call question but it was probably the engineer or an automated system!
[UPDATE]BT engineer must be pushing buttons now - sync'd at 8240 for a while then disconnected. Thank goodness for emergency 3.5G mobile broadband [/UPDATE]
[UPDATE 2]BT engineer called back and router had sync'd at 8946 - he's lowered the noise margin again. Actual download throughput seems to be about 350KB/s (i.e. worse) but I'm happy to sit on it for a bit and wait for the noise margin to become more realistic (probably about 9dB) and let the profiles adjust themselves.  [/UPDATE 2]

The speed is certainly looks better than it was, we're seeing you syncing at 8128 now, it's just a case of waiting for the IP profile to lift to match.
