Things we're not allowed to do with a Technicolor 582n

In the "Safety Instructions and Regulatory Notices" leaflet that came with my 582n, it says:

Quote

Directive Unless express and prior approval by Technicolor in writing, you may not: ... Copy, rent, loan, re-sell, sub-license, or otherwise transfer or distribute the equipment to others; ... Disseminate performance information or analysis (including, without limitation, benchmarks) from any source relating to the equipment.

So we're not supposed to give or sell a 582n to anyone else, nor are we supposed to talk about its performance - at least not with any information or analysis. Were we seriously expected to be complying with those, particularly the second point?

Since those "Directions" are neither "Safety Instructions" NOR "Regulatory Notices", does that automatically make them TOTALLY invalid?
