Re: That dreadful loud music when we phone

Just a reduction in volume would be nice.
I don't have much cause to phone in very often, but the first time really caught me by surprise.
My hearing is damaged enough and I have to be careful to preserve what's left. Sudden loud music right in the ear is not doing anyone any good.

Re: That dreadful loud music when we phone

I quite like loud music as I have it set to speaker and then go back to picking it up when it is answered
Then it is easy to carry on doing something else while in the queue

I am sorry that you did not see the humour in the post that I did, I think the post immediately above speaks volumes about the length of time one has to wait to speak to PN on the phone, and I have certainly given up twice. It is a disgrace that we have to wait that long and some give up and at the same time be subject to music that only one person has said they appreciated others have made constructive comments which have not been picked up by PN.

How hard can it be to turn down the volume?   Roll_eyes

Depends on how well you understand the volume control on your phone!  On mine you press the left hand side of the thumb wheel and the volume goes down.

On mine it stays at the volume sent.

Yes, you can turn the volume right down on some handsets, but then you can't hear when someone finally picks up.  There's absolutely no reason why the "music" should be made so much louder than speech.

Re: That dreadful loud music when we phone

Whilst turning down the volume on the handset is an option, it's not really the proper solution. As has been said before, there is no reason for the music to be so much louder than the speech. This is something Plusnet should be fixing.
