Sorry but could someone have a look at ticket 39568567 please - thank-you

Sorry to use the forum for this but it's been dragging on for a little while (because the problem only occurs when I hit "Light Restrictions") but my connection is virtually unusable after 4pm.
If anyone could nudge this ticket along (number 39568567) I would be very, very grateful.
Thank-you, David.

Re: Sorry but could someone have a look at ticket 39568567 please - thank-you

Thanks Adam, sorry I missed your call but I have read the ticket. Thank-you.
Have looked into migrating to Extra before but, to be honest, I've never done so because I find it difficult to judge what's included (all the pop-up windows and things aren't very helpful - I'm more a nice simple table comparing products type of chap). For example; can I keep my existing static IP, can I keep my higher upload speeds (I pay for the 832Kbps uploads - the Max product, I think).
Apart from the changing what count as peak hours (8am-midnight on extra as I understand it, as opposed to 4pm-midnight on my existing product) and giving me more peak allowance (60Gb as opposed to 20Gb), I'm can't tell what I'd be loosing compared to my existing product.
Thanks again for your intervention. David.

Everything will stay the same except for the usage allowance and the traffic shaping/speed restrictions. You can compare those using http://usergroup.plus.net/prodcomp1.php

Re: Sorry but could someone have a look at ticket 39568567 please - thank-you

Thanks for that Jelv, very helpful. I don't think any of the tighter restrictions on Extra will actually affect me very much (I don't use P2P and our line speed is only 1.5Mbps anyway).
The only one that sticks out as potentially worse is FTP, but this is mainly for uploads rather than downloads. Although, I don't think traffic shaping affects upload speeds, does it?

You are right, there's no shaping on uploads.

daveyb,
With regards to product features you can keep what you have now whilst being on an 'extra' profile, that's not an issue. Smiley
Due to the problems you reported we've reset your account's usage which may or may not have helped with that, can you check and let us know if there's any improvement please?
Adam.

Re: Sorry but could someone have a look at ticket 39568567 please - thank-you

Hi again Adam,
Yes, resetting the usage has cured it. Just tried downloading that Remy video again and it's zipping along beautifully at 160KBps, despite being after 4pm. So huge thank-you to you for getting this sorted.
I've updated the ticket to reflect that resetting the usage has aleviated the problem but also asked whether you want me to close the ticket or whether you want it left open to track down the root-cause of why the traffic management was restricting downloads more than intended.
Thanks also for confirming that I can change product without affecting all my other stuff.
Big thanks again Adam. Cheers!

No problem Smiley Good to hear that this got sorted. Don't worry about the ticket I'll close that off and we'll look into the issue as an internal problem.
