Plusnet in breach of Nominet regulations

Having just attempted to transfer my domain out from Plusnet and being told it will take 5-7 working days I've taken a look at the Nominet regulations for registrars. I'm not going to attempt to list the clauses they do not meet as there are too many!

Shouldn't take long at all, if it's a full transfer the IPSTAG should update pretty sharpish (it certainly used to be and was automated). Let me go take a look.

Are you telling me the information I got from chat was inaccurate?

Me: How long does it take for a domain transfer out to update at Nominet?
CSC Rep: it should be around 5-7 working days
Me: You are joking! Why? It should be automatic!
CSC Rep: We have to process those manually, reason being is that as we dont actually offer support on domains anymore, our system is quite old as we have no reason to update that due to the fact we dont have them anymore

Well for whatever reason it didn't update automatically, so I'm not going to say if they are right or wrong at this point.

I suggest you refer to http://registrars.nominet.uk/registration-and-domain-management/registrar-agreement

For starters:

B.1.5. act promptly on reasonable requests from Registrants to make changes to their domain name registration

D.1.2. make public, prominently via your website, your customer service commitments and state how long your customers should expect to wait before receiving an acknowledgement of their communication and/or how long you usually take to resolve issues raised;

D.1.5. ensure that Your Customers are aware in advance of:

D.1.5.1. the charges associated with .uk domain name registration, renewal and maintenance;

D.1.5.2. any changes to your ongoing charges or other charges that will affect Your Customer;

D.1.5.3. how long you will take to carry out the services; and

D.1.5.4. the Key Terms of your contract with them;

If whatever the issue is can't be fixed it would be better if the transfer out button was removed and replaced by a link to raise a ticket requesting the transfer.

At least you wouldn't have the situation where the domain had been removed from your system thereby killing the associated email and website!

However, it does look like it was in the correct pool and has since been picked up.
