Novel way to "resolve" a fault!

I have a long running fault on my DSL, ongoing since early September and not showing any signs of Plusnet getting to the bottom of the underlying problem.  However as a bit of light relief I received the following update this morning.

Thank you for getting back to us. I've checked the status of the connection and there are no error visible at present now and bot the sync rate and P profile have increased. We'll retest again in a few days to ensure it remains like this.

Sounds good, doesn't it?  In the ticket the update is preceded by a screen print of line stats, radius log and some other stuff.  I didn't think we'd had that many disconnections ... and that synch speed certain shows an increase.  Hang on a moment, attenuation reduced by 15dB, 50% higher synch speed?  Then the penny dropped - the stats and test results are for a different customer's line, nothing to do with us at all.
