Very nice speeds, I'll post mine with PlusNet too!
Anyhow, I notice you're using an out of date version of Internet Explorer (IE7?), you should consider upgrading to the latest version through Windows Update.

but the exchange system is different

Only the broadband kit, the phone kit is unchanged with Be/O2.
Other suppliers, notably TalkTalk do full LLU where it's their phone kit too, Be and O2 don't as they only supply LLU broadband services.
(And just to confuse things O2 do an "Access" service over BT kit in non-LLU areas, Be do not)

Re: Migrated to o2 today, fantastically fast download and upload

I think you are all missing the point here.
It doesn't matter if it is a different system or not, the fact remains that plusnet can only deliver a 192kbs download connection for me and they insist that there is no problem.
Whichever way you look at it, plusnet are not delivering and never give a timely answer to any queries either.  Just bad service.
Anyway, re my earlier post, I will check back here in 2 months. I will make an entry in my diary to do so and let you all know if anything has changed during that time.  I am only interested in good service and high speed so if it turns out to be bad I will say so, but thus far it's absolutely marvellous...only wish I had moved sooner.

Re: Migrated to o2 today, fantastically fast download and upload

As promised, I am now reporting back since my move from plusnet to o2 in December.
Absolutely the best thing I ever did.  I have enjoyed a constant connection since December without a single line drop....but best of all my download speed is constantly around the 6 to 7 meg region and my upload speed is constantly around 1.2 to 1.5 meg.  Very happy all round.
I see from reading this forum since I moved that pretty much everything is the same with the plusnet service.
I would advise you all to jump ship, the grass really is greener on the other side of the fence.

Well i have to congratulate you on coming back after the honeymoon period and letting us know how your speeds are doing, I thought we had prob seen the last of you, I'm glad that its worked out for you, Being on LLU an all, But please remember whats worked for you may not work for others so advising us all to jump ship is a tad on the silly side, considering my speeds here with plusnet..

Im on an upto 8meg NOT on LLU BTW,cheers for coming back with this though Smiley

Re: Migrated to o2 today, fantastically fast download and upload

I have been watching this with interest as my change over to 02 is due in the next few days.
and i will drop in after the 1st month to report how things have gone as well.
I had an interesting conversation during all the phone calls between plusnet, BT and 02, regarding the transfer.
BT confirmed that they actually own  share's  in  plusnet ! and have done for many years.
Also 02 have plans in march to start providing telephone lines for 02 broadband accounts .
So theoretically my broadband @ £7.50 PM (unlimited) plus 02 phone line will be appx. £10.00 PM cheaper than plusnet.

Same here on Plus Net as far as I can tell

Maybe, but I'm happy with my decent ISP providing a good service, so see no reason to change after 5 years.

And that's news how?  BT actually own all of PN and not just some shares.  It's common knowledge

Hi Jonny,
It's good to see that your speeds are now good an you're happy with your new supplier.

@tihson
Yes,  Plusnet is owned by BT and has been for a few years now.

Cheesy So why do so many of plusnet staff deny it !
No need to answer that, but thanks for confirming it !

Re: Migrated to o2 today, fantastically fast download and upload

From my dealings with PN, nobody has ever denied they are owned by BT.
They have made clear the distinction between BT Group PLC, BT Retail, BT Openreach and PN - all separate companies operating under the "BT" umbrella, but with, in the case of BT Retail and PN, separate management structures.  BT Openreach are the maintenance arm who work separately and charge all companies, whether BT owned or not, the same for works they do.
It is important to distinguish between owned by and being run by.
For instance, FGW, First Scotrail, First Capital Connect are all owned by First, but are completely separate operating companies and decisions made in the running of one company have no bearings on the others.

I've not seen us deny it, we've spoken about it many times in these forums previously.
