I have been a customer for well over 20 years and had a loyalty to Plusnet/Force9 as they were a local provider employing local people. I have been naive. They recently hiked my mobile by 14.4% from £8.47 and when I questioned it they dropped the price to £8 so why the mobile price hike? I left anyway. Unfortunately I have just entered into a 24 month full fibre 145 contract and my £28.99 has jumped to £33.16 (over £100 extra over 24 months). Ok a lot of them have hiked their prices but if you go on to their parent company BT today (12th April) I can get a Full Fibre 500Mb contract for £30.99 .. over double the speed.
What prompted me to write this was a leaflet through my letterbox today to say that Fibrus will be coming to our area in summer 2023.. they have a no price hike guarantee mid contract. You pay what you sign up for. To me that is a 'Good Honest' provider, not one which hides it price increases in legal jargon. Plusnet Customer services just told me tough luck you signed up for the price increase. A lesson learned for any sort of loyalty in this day and age, as I said I have been naive.
