Re: Legality of Plusnet Contract Renewal

@jab1

The only two routes to cancel service is to phone COTS (easy really) or to write to the address you indicated.

I am not aware that social media has ever been accepted as an appropriate channel for enacting commercial changes.  I certainly would not conduct such over such channels.

A call to customer services which can be recorded or in writing each provide incontrovertible evidence of the termination request.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

@Townman I know that. Does my post not make it clear?

Re: Legality of Plusnet Contract Renewal

If you don't use telephones or X, Your only option is send a RECORDED DELIVERY letter”

Might be read as to suggest that social media is an acceptable means of communication service termination.

Re: Legality of Plusnet Contract Renewal

This is all now resolved, I had to call in the end, but over 28 years of being a Force9 & then a Plusnet customer it comes to an end. I took my last 2 year contract out on the promise that FTTP would be on our road before the contract ran out, OR are still unable to confirm when or even if it will ever be available. So instead of having a 38Mb (32mb in practice) down & 8Mb (4Mb in practice) up link for £34.99 a month I will now be getting a 250Mb both ways link for £25 a month.

It is a sad day........

You shouldn't be too sentimental - Plusnet (BT etc) aren't. If they want to keep customers they need to do something to make them want to stay.

Enjoy your symmetric 250Mbps - I know I enjoy my symmetric 600Mbps!
