How many staff has Plusnet lost to the new Sky support centre?

Sky recently opened a new Customer Service Centre in Sheffield, they were due to start taking live calls just over a week ago: http://skycustomercentres.com/sheffield/
The obvious conclusion is that this was a deliberate ploy to harm Plusnet by pinching their trained staff.
So how many took Murdock's shilling and how much effect has it had on Plusnet service levels?

As a lifelong Sheffielder I'm not sure how to answer that....suffice to say we do have a thriving Asian community.

See, the conclusion i came to is that.
Sheffield has a majorly declining steel industry.
This means lots of unemployed people
lots of unemployed people = lots of people willing to work for "money" (any amount, they have to live)
The fact that it saddles up "in the same city" as Plusnet is probably coincidental. And Sheffield is quite a big place, Have SKY put their centre next to PN's? that would certainly be the case then!
Also i would expect that PN are now about to outgrow their "New" premesis they moved into a few years ago (thanks to massive customer explosion and decent packages)
PlusNet will probably be looking for somewhere bigger/better site to move into anyway - and the opposite could happen (PN move to a premesis near sky, take away some of their 'new' talent)

Thanks for that Strat.
Although the problem i see with this is, - if you look at the map you've got one close to the railway, and both share (i would imagine) a steady stream of college students looking for work  Wink

15 minutes walk

Wonder if that means you'll get people working for both - would be interesting...

I've heard a rumour that the first thing they are teaching their new Night Staff to say is...
"Please turn off your Router and leave it until the Morning"......!!

Rumour I heard was that PN staff now say " you're through to Sky, how may we help" and wait for the confused voice on other end of line  Crazy

Re: How many staff has Plusnet lost to the new Sky support centre?

AFAIK it was a very small amount, off the top of my head I can't actually name any CSC staff who have gone there (doesn't mean that there aren't any though).
We're still recruiting too.

We're still recruiting too.

You'll get plenty of takers after they become fed up of handling SKY complaints.
