That's got to be worth a hell of a lot in "consultation fees" surely........ Wink

A working internet would be adequate compensation.

Re: Horrendous experience attempting to change over to Plunet fibreoptic

I have just rung Talk Talk, the Plusnet order is still open which means my internet is going to be down for at least another 16 days.
Would either Chris or Adam like to contact me so we can see what can be sorted out?

Re: Horrendous experience attempting to change over to Plunet fibreoptic

Sorry for the delayed update on the forum post, however after our chat over the phone yesterday I thank you for deciding to stay with us.
As agreed I've placed a broadband order which should complete within the next  7 days and an ADSL router is on its way. More details are documented on ticket 43857669 if you need them.

Let us hope this has been a learning experience on Plusnet's side - it has on mine Smiley

Looks like you're going to have to change your forum name now plusnetnoway Smiley
One of the good things about PlusNet is the staff who monitor these forums. Ok, CSC occasionally get it wrong, but there are some dedicated staff on here capable of sorting out the problems and, importantly, have the authority to do so.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Thanks Adam.
I haven't heard anything since and haven't yet received a router. Are we still good for the 13th?

Re: Horrendous experience attempting to change over to Plunet fibreoptic

Hi there,
I've not been in the office since the 7th. No panic though as your order is progressing fine and a router is on its way which I'd expect to reach you within the next 2 days.

Re: Horrendous experience attempting to change over to Plunet fibreoptic

It doesn't work.
After an hour or so trying permutations and combinations we are waiting for a fault report.
The initial settings at the Plusnet end were apparently all for fibre optic - the first task was to change this.
It also took me a while to log into this forum - the software does not recognise my new name.

Sorry to hear that. That is completely unexpected and unfortunate. I'm running some diagnostic test now and will be in touch ASAP.

Re: Horrendous experience attempting to change over to Plunet fibreoptic

Hohohahaha, I'm not laughing at your problems, I know how frustrating it is.
But what is funny is that you were considering returning to TalkTalk, especially after you said "some basic level of competence can be attained"  - referring to the incompetence of plusnet staff.
TalkTalk actually teach incompetence to their staff, I think they even have staff awards now too!
Dumb Ass of the year award!
Most confusing conversation of the year award!
Funniest pretend name award!
Hardest to understand accent award!
Ohhh lord, my problems seem less important now.
I've actually had a successful year, I've got all but two of my customers away from TalkTalk and on to other providers.
I will not rest  Tongue
