Baker and Kelly Join BT Sport - I'm tempted to leave PlusNet after 11 years!

Danny Baker and Danny Kelly are doing a for BT Sport starting August 16th.
Quote
“Baker and Kelly’s Vaguely Sporting Phone-Out” is a new live interactive football show that will run on Friday evenings for 40 weeks throughout the 2013-2014 season on BT Sport. The first show will air on August 16, the day before the Barclays Premier League season kicks off.

I love Danny Baker and the Baker and Kelly shows are fantastic.
The chance to get some live football 'free' is also tempting.
I'll be sad to leave PlusNet after 11 years of good service, so I'm hoping, as a BT owned company, that PlusNet can do a deal to make BT Sport available.
As it is at the moment, I'm checking how much notice I have to give: I'm guessing a month, and how much money it's going to cost to move;
I recently got Unlimited and bought a Technicolor router for about £7, so I'm guessing that was subsidised.
Anyway, sorry for rambling, but seeing as I'll have to give my notice in mid July, I'm hoping PlusNet will announce something soon.

IMHO sport on BT is a good enough reason to stay with PN!

I'll certainly be looking at moving if it's still free when my contract is up - assuming PN have nothing on offer Smiley

Grin Probably, typed very much in a hurry as I was passing so to speak. Well I'm glad Kelly is still here (here) and hope he's not going anywhere.
But I hope Plusnet are giving this TV stuff serious consideration as it seems to be enticing a lot of people - not just the sports side - there are obviously a number of football "fans" out there, as well as here  Roll_eyes (not me) but plenty who want access to Films etc. There are several threads on the subject of Plusnet TV on these forums.

That's a bit like saying, "There's porn on the Internet, so I won't use the Internet."

No more than other people's interests govern theirs.
I think in the olden days, the ubiquity of sport on TV was an issue as there were only 4 channels.
Nowadays, FreeView offers dozens of TV channels and dozens of radio channels, so it's easy to avoid sport if you're averse.
Having said that, I started this thread partly in the hope it will push PlusNet towards a future that includes BT Sport.
To all the other "I don't like sport" posters, I didn't start this thread to illicit your opinions of me, my taste or sport, and I regard such posts as off-topic.

But it doesn't work like that, The people who don't like your version of the future are entitled to post  Roll_eyes
I for one get my sport from eleswhere. If Plusnet supply sport they have to pay for it so all our bills go up. I want Plusnet for the internet and phone provision and service not as a supplier of content. Angry

Re: Baker and Kelly Join BT Sport - I'm tempted to leave PlusNet after 11 years!

Your point about not wanting content from an ISP and its potential knock-on effect on bills is a valid one.
I am hoping as a BT owned company that a deal could be done, although, no doubt legal or commercial issues might prevail.
I take issue with your first point: as the thread starter, I know what the topic is:-
it's a discussion on whether BT Sport can be delivered via PlusNet.
Anyone saying  "I don't like sport" is making a general point that doesn't refer to the topic.
I'd also like to return to my porn analogy.
Porn is available via PlusNet:
however, you can choose to not look at, or for, it.
I believe the same will be true of sport if my future comes to pass.

To all the other "I don't like sport" posters

I love sport but not particularly those loud mouth presenters. I want PN to give me excellent access to the internet at the best possible price, which at the moment they do very successfully. I certainly don't want to be paying so that other people can watch 22 morons kicking one another as well as the round ball & shouting obscenities at one another. I choose to watch my sport, mainly cricket, via Sky for which I am prepared to pay a substantial fee.
Therefore Plusnet, please remain a sport free zone
