@warbleeder
From your photo it appears that the black cable is some sort of extension which would mean that you have a second filter at the end of that lead. Is that correct?
If so you need to be aware that putting the router at the end of an extension like that is one of the common causes of speed problems as extension leads suitable for phones may not be a good enough for ADSL modems.
Is there a power socket near the phone socket in your picture? If so a far, far better solution would be to put the modem/router there and then run a long ethernet cable to where needed. Ethernet cables are to a lot higher specification and can go up to 100 metres with no loss of speed.

this is only way i can stay connected (and its fastest it has been for last 3 months)
i only have the 1 micro filter that can been seen in the picture... the black cable gose to my dls modem
and the white cable thats connected to the M/F is my phone... if i connect broadband and phone via micro filter i will keep loosing synth
(as i said before i used 5 micro filters 3 new)
im soo confused only thing i can think of is something is been bypassed

That obviously shouldn't happen.
What happens if:
1. Remove 2-way splitter
2. Plug filter DIRECTLY into Test Socket
3. Connect router to filter using the supplied (i.e. supposedly correct) short RJ11 ADSL cable
4. No phone connected for now
And what then happens if:
5. Plug phone into a 2nd filter.
6. Plug that filter into the first filter (alongside the ADSL cable)
(i.e. phone is now double-filtered)

number 1 to 4 gives me problems... number 5 and 6 should still give me problems as the second filter would cancle the first one out and the line would then think i have no filter
bt came out today
my line speed doubled :)) 5 meg
and problem seems to be solved... was one of the bt green street boxes i just needed jumping to new ports or w/e they call eem
p.s plusnet site still loads slow

No, it's fine, doesn't work the way you think.
You just need to do it as I describe so that the phone goes through 2 filters but the broadband is in the ADSL (not phone) socket on the filter directly plugged into the Test Socket.
Anyway if BT have been and fixed it (any clues how?) hopefully you won't need to try that.

Hi there,
I can see the connection is still intermittent from your logs, sorry it's going on so long. I'll nudge the faults team to update you but if you could add some details of the visit to the ticket so we know how things happened from your point of view that'd be great.

i was happy with engineer as he doubled my line speed....
but im sick of bt messing around
everyone ive spoken to at plusnet said they think i need a lift and shift... so did the engineer on thursday.... the engineer yesterday said if the issue was not resolved by his woulld he would also rec a lift and shift....
but bt wont allow it
im sick of disconnections im sick of having engineers come out tell me the same old story
im sick of calling plusnet and complaining to be told u have to piggy foot around bt (i dont mean that nasty but its basicly true)
and im now thinking about giving ofcom a second call.. maybe afew more poeple
also why is it that in both houses ive lived in i had the same problem and it took bt months and afew engineers to admit its their fault?
like i said to pn on the phone this morning... id rather have 2.5 meg and a stable connection than 5 meg and the issue persist
