The Sunday Mail Great Scot Awards took place at the Thistle Hotel on Saturday 26th October and what a fantastic night it was! The awards celebrated the incredible achievements of unsung heroes from Scotland, with award categories ranging from Business, Sport, Unsung Hero and many more. The ceremony was hosted by the very popular comedian Kevin Bridges who ensured the evening was thoroughly entertaining. Plus, music and performances from celebrity guests meant that everyone, including some Plusnet customers and staff, had a brilliant time. Plusnet sponsored the Business Award and had the honour of presenting the award to the very worthy winner, Pringle. They got the award in recognition of nearly 200 years at the forefront of the Scottish textile industry. Phoebe Cobb from Pringle Scotland’s head of marketing was delighted to have won, saying
“We are really pleased and flattered. We’re a brand that’s 198 years old and it’s a real honour to still be respected by the Scottish community. We were humbled to be at an event where so many people were being recognised for such successes and life time achievements for all their hard work.”
Roland Barzegar, Financial Controller at Plusnet said,
‘It was an honour to be part of the Great Scot Awards, and our staff and customers had a fantastic evening. It meant a lot for Plusnet to sponsor the Business Award because we started as a small company 16 years ago and we have since expanded into a major UK broadband provider, which is why we wanted to use this opportunity to recognise the innovative and exceptional Scots in the world of commerce.’
As you can tell, a great night was had by all and Plusnet would like to congratulate all of the winners. We look forward to seeing who wins next year!
