Apple announce new iPhone 4s

appleNew Apple CEO Tim cook yesterday conducted his first keynote speech, with the world waiting to hear about what Apple have in store for us. Most of us were expecting an announcement about the iPhone 5. What we got instead was the iPhone 4S. Apple claim the iPhone 4S has 200 new features and some of the new advances do seem rather good. It features a Dual Core A5 chip - the same as the iPad 2 - and 7x quicker graphics for an enhanced gaming experience. It's 8-Megapixel camera features a 5th lens with increased aperture for sharper photos and can take 1080p HD video. A new stabilising feature will reduce shake when filming for better quality videos. The iPhone 4S comes with the IOS 5 operating system and something called iCloud, where you can store your apps, music, photos, mail, calendars, contacts and more and will push them to your other Apple devices. For phone functionality, the iPhone 4s can switch between its two antennas for better call quality. It's GSM and CDMA capability on the same chip is something Apple say that makes this a real worldwide phone. There's a new intelligent voice recognition program called Siri will not only recognise words, but understand how to interpret them. You can ask it to book meetings at certain times and it will tell you if you already have one. You can ask for business listings in a certain area and it will give you the results. It will even read your text messages and reply for you by speaking your message. It's due for release on 14th October and if previous iPhone sales are anything to go by, this will have a big uptake too. If you've already got an iPhone and need help setting up your Plusnet email on it, head over to our Community Library for instructions on how to do this.
