setting up access of web server on home router

Hi

I wonder if there are any techies out there who could help me.

I want to move a small web sever from my office and attach it to my home router. It has very little traffic.

The server has a program on that I access via a ssl domain on the sever. To access this at the moment I have a fixed IP address that comes in via port 443 and is then redirected to port 8443 is this something I could replicate on my home router?

Thanks in advance for any help.

@Maca

I wouldn't try just doing this on an ISP router by port forwarding as it has a potential to be insecure.

What you need is either a router that can produce two separate and secure subnets from one connection and then direct one to your server or possibly you could have cascaded routers with the server off the first one and the "home" network on the second.

Plusnet will provide a fixed public IP address for a one off payment.

I am the satisfied customer....
