Hi all,
I am configuring my router technicolor tg582n for port forwarding.
As I have to reach remotely my PCs I should forward the port UDP 9 to the broadcast address 192.168.1.255.
I found several guides in the web but not regarding the forwarding to broadcast address...
As it does not work, may someone please tell me where the following steps are wrong?
- Click Create a new game or application under the heading Pick a task...
- In the box labelled "Name" type "Wake on LAN”.
- Click Manual Entry of Port Maps
- Click Next
- Select the protocol UDP from the drop-down menu under the heading Protocol.
- Fill in the start port nr (9) and the end port nr (9)
- Leave the other boxes empty and click Add.
- Click Apply.
- Click on the option to Assign a game or application to a local network device
- Locate:"Wake on LAN” from the drop-down menu under the heading Game or Application
- In the drop-down menu under the heading Device select the name of the device you need to forward ports to.
- Select “user-defined…”
- Type the broadcast network address: 192.168.1.255
- Click Add.
The router should now set up with the port forwarding configuration

If you're trying to do "wake on LAN from the internet", then the following link shows how to do that with a Technicolor router.
Sorry it's from a archive site, the original is no longer available.

not yet tried, seen that the router will require a reboot, so i prefer to be onsite to do that test...
but, in the meanwhile, i have a doubt: do you think it is possible to extend this wol to the entire lan instead of a single pc?

Never tried sending wol to the whole lan, so don't know if it works with the technicolor. I do know the method I previously posted does work, you could extend that to more devices by just using a different port and ARP entry for each device.
You could experiment with sending to the entire lan by:
Port forwarding to 192.168.1.10 (or any unused IP) and then editing the arp table for that IP:
IP = 192.168.1.10 hwaddr= ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
